Does TraderOps do my taxes or tell me how much I owe?
No. TraderOps is a bookkeeping tool, not a tax tool. We don't calculate your taxes, file returns, or provide financial advice. What we do is keep your trading business organized throughout the year so you — or your accountant — have everything in one place at year-end.
How is this different from other bookkeeping software?
TraderOps is built exclusively for traders. It has trader-specific categories out of the box, no corporate bloat, and no accounting background required. It's designed to track what matters to you — like prop firm ROI and your overall trading business profitability — without the features you don't need.
Which prop firms does TraderOps work with?
All of them. TraderOps connects to your bank account and credit cards — not to prop firms directly — so any firm you trade with is covered. Payouts and account fees from Tradeify, Topstep, Lucid, MFF, Topone, Apex, and dozens more get tracked automatically, whether they hit your bank or your card. If it shows up on a statement you control, we can track it.
Does TraderOps connect to my broker or track my individual trades?
No — and that's by design. TraderOps connects to your bank accounts and credit cards, never to your broker or trading platform. We track the income and expenses flowing through your accounts — prop firm payouts, eval fees, software subscriptions, data feeds — not your individual trades. TraderOps is a bookkeeping tool for the business side of trading, not a trade journal.
Can I use this if I already have a CPA?
Absolutely — and your CPA will thank you. TraderOps doesn't replace your CPA; it gives them clean, organized, categorized books they can review without rebuilding your transaction history.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — every new account starts with a 14-day free trial. A payment method is required at sign-up, but you won't be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel anytime during the trial.
Is my bank data safe?
Yes. Your accounts connect through Stripe Financial Connections with read-only access — we can see your transactions but never your bank login credentials, and TraderOps has no ability to move money. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
What about imported data from my old spreadsheets?
You can import historical transactions via CSV, and our smart categorization rules will back-apply to them. Start fresh or bring everything with you.
